Super rescue action movies associated with the name Liam Neeson

Even though he is 70 years old, Liam Neeson still diligently appears in action movies, especially the “rescue” movie series. Before the latest movie “Blacklight” is about to be released to Vietnamese audiences, let’s take a look at the famous movies that have made Neeson’s name.

Taken (2008): Before “Taken”, Liam Neeson was already a talented actor, widely accepted by the public for roles such as Qui-Gon Jinn, training Jedi knights in the film series.

Taken 2 (2012): Set 2 years after part 1, in part 2, the family of Bryan Mills, his ex-wife Lenore and Kim reunite in Istanbul (Türkiye). But not long after that, the mastermind of the kidnapping in the first part, and also the father of a criminal killed by Bryan, appeared.

The gang kidnaps Bryan and his ex-wife, pursuing Kim with the aim of revenge. The film continues with dramatic chases. Liam Neeson still wins a lot of sympathy in the hearts of the audience with the image of a hero who never backs down and is willing to do everything for his family.

Taken 3 (2018): In part 3, different from the previous two parts, this time, former agent Bryan Mills has to rescue himself. A terrible disaster suddenly struck when Lenore – Bryan’s ex-wife was murdered.

He became the number one suspect pursued by the police. And once again, he must use his fighting skills to escape capture, find the real culprit, and protect the most important person in his life – his daughter Kim.

Non-Stop (2014)

On a transatlantic flight from New York (USA) to London (UK), Bill Marks (Liam Neeson) – a US Federal aviation police officer received a series of threatening messages asking him to instruct the authorities.

The government transferred $150 million to a secret bank account. Every 20 minutes, a passenger on the flight will be killed, until this account receives money.

Unexpectedly, the owner of that account was Bill. To restore his innocence and keep the flight safe, Bill must compete with the hidden terrorist, rescue 150 passengers at an altitude of more than 12 km above the ground…

The Commuter (2018)

In “The Commuter,” Liam Neeson plays Michael MacCauley – an insurance salesman who has just been fired. On the train back home, he is approached by a mysterious woman (Vera Farmiga). She wants MacCauley to identify a mysterious passenger. The asking price is 100,000 USD; with 25,000 USD in advance hidden on the ship.

At first, Michael MacCauley thought it was just a joke. But when he discovered that $25,000 was on the ship exactly as instructed, he had to “rush after the spear”. MacCauley needs to find the subject before his family and all the lives on the train are in danger.

Honest Thief (2020)

Another rescue-themed action movie by Liam Neeson is “Honest Thief” – revolving around Tom Carter (played by Neeson) – a former marine but after being discharged from the army, he decided to rob a bank.

Within 8 years, he successfully committed 12 robberies without leaving any clues and accumulated a huge sum of money. Until one day, Tom met the woman of his life – Annie (Kate Walsh).

He decided to wash his hands of his sword and call the FBI to turn himself in. However, the corrupt agents were dazzled by the weight of the above amount of money and intended to harm Tom.

Black Light (2022)

This year, “Hollywood veterans” continue to land on the big screen with a new action movie – “Blacklight” –
The main character of the film is Travis Block (played by Liam Neeson), a former FBI agent. He accidentally discovered a secret plan of kidnappings, assassinations and extortion involving the FBI director.

Things become even more chaotic when his daughter and granddaughter are kidnapped. Now, Travis must simultaneously rescue the people he loves as well as expose the dark truth that has been hidden for so long.
