Britney Spears is in for a career move as she swears off music and deletes her Instagram.

The mega pop star recently declared that she’s done with the music industry in an aggressive post. Before her page with 43 million followers was taken down, she wrote: “I will never return to the music industry !!! When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!! I’ve written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!! I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way.”

With her Instagram now gone, she made her way to Twitter where she teased fans with a glimpse into the future. “Something new coming soon,” she wrote in a video.

To many fans dismay, it won’t be any sort of musical collaboration as she wrote in her now-gone Instagram post: “Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash !!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album. ”

The new post on Twitter advised fans to sign up for her mailing list to “be the first know” what she’s about to launch. Fans are excited to see what Britney has in store. “We can’t wait for whatever it is Britney,” wrote one.

Some fans think they’ve already figured out what’s happening. One said: “To anyone who doesn’t automatically realize it’s new merch… bless your heart.”

They pointed out that this teaser aligns with the anniversary of …Baby One More Time and think it could just be a vinyl or new merch release. The teaser video included drawn flowers reminiscent of that throwback era in Britney’s career.

Many fans also expressed concern, especially given Britney’s recent announcement to dip out from music forever. A fan said: “Ok but after the album debacle I want to know if this is approved by Britney because I have zero trust in her team. I love Britney and will always support her but after her team tried her my trust levels are at the bottom now.”

They were pushing back on the potenetial cash grab from management. Another fan chimed in: “Oh please sell us something new not remotely considering Britney’s feelings and life.”
