Every time Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer share any sort of screen time, fans lose their heads. With good reason, seeing as they are the two actors who brought to life one of the most famous fictional couples in the world.

The two actors got together to participate in a commercial for the Super Bowl, and while it was a happy occasion, it also brought some mixed feelings.

This is the first time the two Friends co-stars are seen working together since the tragic death of Matthew Perry, their beloved friend and colleague. Despite the sadness that surrounds the cast, with Matthew’s absence being so clear and raw, it’s great to see that their bond is still strong.

Jennifer Aniston And David Schwimmer Reconnected Working Together For The Super Bowl

For ten years, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer played the most iconic sitcom couple ever: Ross and Rachel. The Friends co-stars have always looked back to their time as an on-screen couple fondly, and they still enjoy working together a lot. Recently, they reunited for the first time in years to make an Uber Eats commercial for the Super Bowl.

The premise of the commercial is that you need to forget certain things to make room to remember everything that’s available on Uber Eats. It features several celebrities, including David and Victoria Beckham, who have a hard time trying to remember the name of a certain pop group Victoria was in. Near the end of the commercial, David Schwimmer spots Jennifer Aniston and goes to greet her warmly, only for her to react very coldly and say “Have we met?” In disbelief, David explains “We worked together for 10 years.” The actress then tries to pretend to be glad to see him, but he sees through her easily. “You still don’t know, do you?” He asks. After that, Jennifer abandons all pretense and walks away muttering “Like I’d forget 10 years of my life.” As he stands in the lot alone, David states “I hate this town.”

Both actors posted the commercial on their Instagram accounts, and David wrote in the caption “Had so much fun making this with whatshername.”

As beautiful as working together again must have been, it was probably also bittersweet, considering the tremendous loss that David, Jennifer, and everyone who worked in Friends recently suffered. The two of them, alongside Lisa Kudrow, Matt Leblanc, and Courteney Cox, reunited recently at Matthew Perry’s funeral to say goodbye to their dear friend, and they came together to put out a heartfelt statement to honor their friend.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss,” they shared. “In time we will say more, as and when we are able,” the statement continues. “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”

It’s good to see that they still have each other’s backs, and that they remain as close as ever as they navigate this tragedy.
