During the Variety segment, Lawrence, alongside actor Adam Sandler, delved into the intricacies of their experiences in the film industry. Lawrence, unapologetically candid as always, expressed her desire for directors to be upfront and unambiguous in their feedback.
“I need everybody in my life to be this way, but especially with the director I just want you to be straightforward.”
During the conversation, Lawrence shared a story about her encounter with the renowned director, David O. Russell. The Hollywood celeb narrated the moment in the Variety segment when Russell, who is known for his intense and uncompromising directing style, asked her to perform a scene without any unnecessary elements.
“Yeah and like David O. Russell one time I did a scene and he was looking at the monitor and he was like do it again, but with no bullsh*t like take all the bullsh*t there’s too much bullsh*t and I was like got it. and he was like do it again, but with no bullsh*t like take all the bullshi*t there’s too much bullsh*t and I was like got it. It’s like a coach harder, faster … I always respond better to that.”
