Angelina Jolie, Biden’s brother Frank among White House state dinner guests

WASHINGTON — Actress Angelina Jolie and President Biden’s brother Frank are among the roughly 200 guests with tickets to the White House state dinner Wednesday with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.

Billionaire hedge fund founder David Shaw and Carl Page, the entrepreneur brother of Google co-founder Larry Page, also are on the guest list for the second state dinner of Biden’s presidency.

Jolie, 47, will attend the elite celebration with her adopted son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 21, a student at Seoul’s Yonsei University, according to a White House press release.

Biden’s younger brother Frank will attend with his partner Mindy Ward, identified by the Daily Mail as a former Hooters waitress and ex-flight attendant.

Frank Biden faced negative publicity after invoking his powerful brother’s name to secure business for troubled charter schools in Florida and through his work with a consulting firm that lobbied the Obama administration on energy policy.

The president’s other brother, James Biden, is more frequently a subject of news coverage due to his foreign business dealings in China and Mexico, which are under investigation by House Republicans probing first son Hunter Biden’s often overlapping interests.

President Biden hosted his first state dinner in December in honor of French President Emmanuel Macron — with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) reportedly coming face-to-face with Hunter Biden on the White House lawn.

That party featured slightly more guests and included LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, currently the world’s richest man, and Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Attendees of the French state dinner also included wealthy business owners Bill and Connie Neville, who later that month let the president use their St. Croix vacation home.

Biden generally is believed to stay for free at the beach houses of rich donors.

It was not immediately clear why McCarthy (R-Calif.), who is locked in a debt-ceiling standoff with Biden over proposed budget cuts, was left off the South Korean bash’s guest list.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is listed as attending, as are two Korean-American House Republicans, Young Kim and Michelle Steel of California.
