Before becoming a player, Beckham spent $36K on Son Romeo to learn tennis, really?

David Beckham is no doubt one of the greats of his generation. And as the son of such esteemed soccer players, it’s no surprise that Romeo Beckham has followed in his father’s footsteps.

The 20-year-old is currently playing for the Brentford B team, on loan from his father’s team, Inter Miami II.

Romeo’s soccer career began in 2014 when he joined the Arsenal academy. However, he was released in 2015 and decided to give up on professional soccer. He turned to other passions, one of which was tennis.

Romeo Beckham took up Tennis while David Beckham installed a court

Romeo took up tennis as a profession and had the opportunity to take lessons from some of the biggest names in the sport, including Andy Murray, Caroline Wozniacki, and Grigor Dimitrov.

His father even installed a $36,000 tennis court in their family home garden for him to practice on

Despite all of this, Romeo turned back to soccer and made his return in 2020. David Beckham in response to his son’s change of heart destroyed the Tennis Court. In place of the court, the 47-year-old put in a soccer five-a-side pitch to support his son’s decision.

Romeo has made a strong entry into professional soccer and is quickly becoming a key player on the field. Most recently, Romeo scored an impressive late goal to help his team secure the win. His journey has just begun, and he’s slated to play against the Ukraine National team.
