David and Victoria Beckham have poked fun at themselves to highlight an upcoming advert that they will star in.

The duo – who have been married since 1999 and share four children – have teamed up with Uber Eats to create a new advertisement that is scheduled to air during the upcoming American Football NFL Super Bowl LVIII. The sporting event will see the San Francisco 49ers take on the Kansas City Chiefs – who Taylor Swift’s current boyfriend, Travis Kelce, plays for – to battle it out to win the championship.

The game draws in huge audiences in the USA – with over 100 million fans tuning in in America alone and millions more watching from around the world. With so many eyes on the sport, brands pay huge sums to advertise products and it seems Uber have forked out a huge amount to secure 49-year-old Victoria and 48-year-old David – as well as 54-year-old Jennifer Aniston – to feature in an ad.

Teasing the video on her main Instagram feed on Tuesday, Victoria wrote: “Before I forget… @DavidBeckham and I filmed a little something for the Hockey Bowl. We can’t wait for you to see it!! Oh, and Jessica Aniston is going to be in it too!! Kisses xx.”

Amazon Prime fans ‘glued’ to new Nicole Kidman series that has them ‘on edge’

A video clip showed her sitting on her sofa wearing a t-shirt stating “My dad drives a Rolls Royce” – a reference to a recent Netflix documentary about the star and her family which saw her humiliated by her husband when she tried to make out she was from a humble background, only for David to explain her dad drove a high-end car. The pair referred to their Netflix documentary in their advert too.

In the teaser, Posh Spice says: “So David and I are going to be in a little commercial.” Dave then interrupted to say: “Be honest.” She protested: “I am.” But Dave insisted: “Be honest!” Sighing, she continues, saying: “OK. It’s a big commercial.” David then says: “Tell them what it’s during.” Victoria says: “David, I’m trying!” David demands: “No, tell them what it’s during.”

The former singer then says to the camera: “OK. It’s during the big baseball game.” David interrupts again to say: “Super big baseball game.” Poking fun at their own intelligence, Victoria then says: “Or was it the Hockey Bowl?” Dave concurs: “Hockey. Hockey Bowl. Oh! And tell them about Jessica Aniston.” With a gasp, Victoria then says: “Jessica Aniston is going to be in it too.” David then declares: “Thank you. We love Jessica.” A strap then declares: “Whatever you forget this Sunday, remember Uber Eats.”

The Super Bowl often pulls in huge audiences who watch the game – but not for the sport. Film studios drop big-budget trailers during the ad breaks and brands rope in big stars to plug their products – with many viewers watching for these highlights alone. The halftime performance is another big draw – with the 2024 performer confirmed as Usher. The 45-year-old singer will belt out a number of his biggest hits – and it tipped to be joined by guests, while Andra Day, Post Malone, Reba McEntire and Tiësto scheduled to perform at other points during the game.
