President of Inter Miami – David Beckham has just said that Messi may have to delay the date of his new team’s debut match.
On July 17, Messi officially debuted at Inter Miami Club.
The Argentine superstar signed a 2.5-year contract with the home team DRV PNK, receiving a salary of about 60 million USD/year.
As planned, Messi will play his Inter Miami debut in the match against Cruz Azul at the Leagues Cup on July 21.
But according to the latest developments, the day the Argentine superstar first plays for his new team may be pushed back.
President of Inter Miami – David Beckham said: “We don’t know whether Messi will play in the match against Cruz Azul or not, because I think he has to have time to prepare to be really ready.
We must ensure Messi’s health. He just finished his vacation and arrived in Miami not long ago. Messi just practiced, he looks good now. I think Messi himself and coach Tata Martino will decide on his ability to play against Cruz Azul.”
The announcement from President David Beckham made many fans who bought tickets to watch Inter Miami’s match against Cruz Azul feel worried. Tickets to watch this confrontation have skyrocketed in recent times. Some seats were sold for 110,000 USD, while the cheapest price at the time of ticket issuance was only 287 USD.
