Deontay Wilder has said that he believes people are starting to seriously question Tyson Fury after the Francis Ngannou fight.

The former WBC heavyweight world champion was stopped twice by the Gypsy King in their trilogy which took place between 2018 and 2021.

Fury and Wilder shared a controversial draw in 2018, then the Brit stopped the American in 2020 and 2021.

Following their second fight in 2021, which Fury won when Wilder’s corner threw the towel in, the defeated man refused to accept his loss.

Wilder made several excuses and even accused Fury of cheating by improperly wearing his gloves and loading them with egg weights.

This is a claim he stands by to this day, despite the fact he was KO’d in their third clash 18 months later.

Now, Fury is coming in for a fair amount of criticism following his fight with MMA star Ngannou.

Fury did not look anywhere near his best against Ngannou last month.

The heavy favourite was floored and pushed close over ten rounds by the former UFC heavyweight champion, only winning by narrow split decision.

“I didn’t even get to watch the fight,” Wilder told Blue Blood Sports TV.

“I had a lot of texts and people calling me about it, especially when he got dropped.

“After the fight a lot of people were figuring out what was going on – ‘Maybe he did cheat [in your fight], maybe he did have something in his gloves.’

“All these things are coming up now.

“Everybody’s saying he lost and, ‘Deontay we need you back,’ and how boring boxing is, the heavyweight division is crumbling and falling.

“I’m coming.”

Earlier this year, Wilder said of Fury: “I can’t stand that motherf***er. They know what’s up, he’s a cheater.”

Fury responded: “I beat him three times, I absolutely done his record right in, gave him two knockout losses and a draw which I won anyway.

“I don’t hate the guy, he’s just a bit of tosser that’s all.”
