Former trainer claims Mike Tyson can knock out Deontay Wilder in ONE MINUTE at age 53, ‘Iron Mike’ will also beat Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua

Mike Tyson would finish Deontay Wilder in just ONE MINUTE, even at the age of 53 – claims the former world heavyweight champion’s trainer.

Jeff Fenech worked with ‘Iron Mike’ towards the back end of his colourful and controversial career, which saw him render 44 of his 56 opponents unconscious.

Along the way, there were broken bones, face tattoos and even exotic animals. But one thing remained constant until the end of his 20-year-career; the power.

At the age of just 21, Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion in history when he knocked out Trevor Berbick and he became the first man to hold all three major titles – WBA, WBC, and IBF – at the same time.

Despite giving away nine inches and almost 20 years, Fenech believes Tyson still has the power and skill set to defeat former WBC champion Wilder.

“Boxing’s not the same now. I’d guarantee that if Mike Tyson trained for six weeks, he’d knock Wilder out in a minute,” Fenech told Sporting News.

“He would hit them. If these guys are getting knocked out by Tyson Fury – who’s a great fighter, but not a huge puncher – Tyson would kill these guys.

“They’re not on the same level today.”

Tyson himself maintained he could defeat the best heavyweights of this era – including Fury and Anthony Joshua – but only in his prime.

But Fenech is adamant that ‘Kid Dynamite’ would wreak havoc in the heavyweight division right now if he were to return to the gym.

He added: “Mike today, I reckon if he trained he could still beat these guys.

“Fury’s got these other skills, but Deontay Wilder’s got a punch and nothing else. If you punch him, it’s over.

“And Mike don’t miss.”
