An Australian bobsledder has beaten out a host of Hollywood hunks to be voted number one in British gay magazine Attitude’s annual HOT 100.

Simon Dunn was crowned the winner at a party in London this week, attended by a host of celebrities.

The chiseled sportsmen toppled UK Olympian Tom Daley from his two-year stint at the top of the list, also beating Channing Tatum, One Direction’s Liam Payne, David Backham and Zac Efron.

‘It’s all a little surreal at the moment. I still don’t consider myself in the same group as them … I’m just that guy from Sydney who pushes sleds,’ Dunn told AAP.

‘Growing up I didn’t have any gay role models, so I’m really hoping I can be that for someone,’ he told AAP.

In an interview with Attitude he said: ‘If I can make one young gay teen see that sexuality shouldn’t be a factor in sport then that’s a win in itself.’

Dunn, who is single, said he was looking for love and was ready to settle down and start a family – but he will only get married when it is legal to do so in Australia.

He said: ‘One day I would like to meet the right guy, settle down and have kids.

‘But I will only do this when I can get married in front of friends and family in my home country. If I can represent that country in sport I should be able to marry the person I love.

‘The law needs to be changed as soon as possible, otherwise we’ll look as bad as other countries who treat gay people like second class citizens.’

Although being awarded sexiest man on earth was a great achievement for Simon he admits that having the chance to meet one of his British idols was equally thrilling

He said: ‘Meeting Katie was just as exciting as winning the hot 100! She’s famous for being totally outrageous and whipping out her big fake boobs! And that’s why I love her!’

He even went as far to admit that he had an unlikely crush on the business woman: ‘In fact she’s probably the only woman I could imagine sleeping with because I bet she’d be wild in the bedroom!

‘I also met her husband Kieron too who is totally gorgeous! He has such an amazing body! You know what if I had to choose I wouldn’t know which one i’d fancy more!’

Simon is currently in Calgary training with the Australian bobsledding team and hopes to compete in the 2018 South Korean Winter Olympics.
