NBA great Shaquille O’Neal stunned viewers with a hilarious new emo look.

O’Neal, who had evidently lost a bet, sported a wig that resembled Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler’s viral look on NBC Media Day, when he took pictures as “Emo Jimmy” alter ego.

It’s not clear what bet O’Neal lost, but as you can imagine he was the subject of much good-natured derision from the TNT crew.

Butler first showed off his new appearance in October, turning up with his “emo” look of straightened hair, nose, lip and eyebrow piercings, with his fingernails painted black.

“I’m feeling this,” Butler said. “I’m very emotional right now. This is my emo state and I like this. This is me. This is how I’ve been feeling as of late.”

Superstar center O’Neal, who played in the NBA from 1992 to 2011, has also revealed some of his unusual pregame routines.

The preparations included staying awake until 4am, and consuming fries and soda.

“I never go to bed early. Since I was 18 years old, I’ve never gone to bed before 12 o’clock,” O’Neal said on “The Big Pod with Shaq”.

“That was my thing, stay out all night, right? Like just 4:00. Get up at 10:00. Go to shootaround, mess around, come back.

“Two turkey clubs, fries and a pineapple soda, and then I’ll sleep the four hours.”
