Watch the heartwarming moment David Beckham surprises Pride of Britain Award winner Moin Younis

Pride of Britain Award winner Moin Younis got the surprise of his life when he met David Beckham while finding out he was one of the big winners.

The 17-year-old football fanatic was left gobsmacked when 42-year-old David dropped in to reveal he was the winner of the Teenager Of Courage award.

It is one of the many extraordinary moments at the Mirror’s star-studded Pride of Britain Awards, in partnership with TSB, which will be screened tonight on ITV at 8pm.

Moin was awarded the gong at this year’s awards after serving as a brand ambassador for Acorns Children’s Hospice where he offers advice and support to ill children.

Moin himself has defied the odds after being diagnosed with a rare genetic skin disorder called Epidermolysis Bullosa aged two months – with doctors fearing he wouldn’t survive beyond his first birthday.

The teenager remains incredibly upbeat despite the condition leaving him with a burning sensation across his entire body, with scars covering his skin and wounds that refuse to heal.

A huge Aston Villa fan, Moin is also a life long fan of David Beckham and was astonished when the footballer arrived to meet him in London to present him with his invitation to attend the Pride of Britain Awards – which took place in London on 30 October 2017.

First told that David was on the phone, Moin asked in disbelief: “How am I supposed to believe this is David Beckham?” and asked: “When am I allowed to meet you one day?”

The teenager then became overwhelmed with emotion as David emerged from a neighbouring room.

“You’re an amazing person who does so much for so many other people,” David gushed as he met his fan.

Showcasing his warming personality, Moin said to David: “I can’t believe it. It’s the best day of my life.”
