During the performance, something unexpected happened and Taylor’s crying face bothered the audience

Taylor Swift definitely wasn’t “ready for it” when a bug flew into her mouth during her Eras Tour.

In an unexpected moment Sunday night, the pop star suddenly began coughing and gagging onstage at Soldier Field in Chicago in front of 60,000-plus fans, per videos shared on social media. She then shared with the audience, “I swallowed a bug. I’m so sorry.”

Swift quickly laughed off her misfortune, quipping, “Oh, delicious. Oh, God. Is there any chance that none of you saw that?”

She continued to “shake it off” with more jokes, admitting, “It’s fine, it’s all, it’s — I’ve swallowed it.”

After recovering from the mishap, the singer added, “So I’m just gonna try not to do as many of those. This is gonna happen again tonight. There’s so many bugs. There’s a thousand of them. Anyway, this has been fun.”

The awkward interruption came in the midst of Swift’s third and final concert in Chicago.

The Grammy winner, 33, kicked off her time at Soldier Field on Friday by celebrating the beginning of Pride Month with a passionate message for her LGBTQIA+ fans.

“I’m looking out tonight, [and] I’m seeing so many incredible individuals who are living authentically and beautifully, and this is a safe space for you,” she said. “This is a celebratory space for you.”

Swift also encouraged her fans to continue to stand up for the LGBTQIA+ community beyond the month of June by taking action and voting in local elections.

On Friday, the pop star kicked off Pride Month with a heartfelt speech for her LGBTQIA+ fans.

“We can support as much as we want during Pride Month, but if we’re not doing our research on these elected officials, are they advocates? Are they allies? Are they protectors of equality?” she continued.

Then on Saturday night, the “All Too Well” songstress welcomed Maren Morris for a surprise performance of “You All Over Me.”

Morris is the latest artist to make an appearance on the Eras Tour. Late last month, Swift teamed up with Ice Spice to perform their “Karma” remix during her stop in East Rutherford, NJ.
