Dua Lipa is reportedly set to become the wealthiest British female popstar as the singer parts ways with her management company.

The Don’t Start Now hit maker isn’t just a master of pop tunes, off the stage the 28-year-old has bought the rights to her publishing catalogue and made a new business move.

The star has decided to begin working with her businessman dad, Dukagjin, known as Dugi, and could be on track to ‘become a billionaire’.

The pair have set up a company, Radical 22 Publishing Limited, to help manage all her commercial ᴀssets just days after she announced she had cut all ties with her former management company TaP.

A source told The Sun: ‘Dua wants to take back control of her career and Dugi is very hands-on.

HUGE success: Dua Lipa, 28, could become the Britain's BILLIONAIRE popstar as the singer ditches her management ahead of her new single, The Sun has reported

‘He felt like she was giving away too high a percentage of her earnings, and after becoming her manager he felt the next logical step was to come in as an official business partner.’

While a few in the industry are comparing her and her father’s relationship to that between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun, the source ᴀssured that although firm, Dugi will prioritise his daughter’s best interests.

Discussing Dua’s new strategy to ensure she possesses ownership of her songs, the source explained: ‘Essentially, the move also has echoes of Taylor Swift — a huge female pop star rewriting the narrative and making money on her own terms.

‘By the time she’s 40, Dua could be a billionaire.’

This week Dua was mentioned alongside Harry Styles and Ed Sheeran as the British stars who collectively contributed to UK music export raking in £4Billion in 2022.

And while her previous deal with TaP saw her giving away around 20 per cent of her income, now with the help of her father she will be able to hopefully retain everything she earns.

Last week it was revealed that TaP have sold the rights back to the artists as they wished Dua well for the future.

The singer signed with TaP when she was originally signed by executive Ben Mawson in 2013 after he spotted her in a London cocktail bar.

She parted ways with the firm in February 2022 and has since been managed by her father.

And the star could be set to soar back into the UK charts very son as her new single, Houdini, is set to be released on Thursday.

While fans can’t wait to hear the star’s new music, one lucky pᴀsserby was treated to a sneaky preview on Tuesday.

Dua shocked her fans as she surprised an unsuspecting pᴀsserby in London with a preview of her upcoming single.

One lucky person got to listen to the new song early after being surprised by Dua and Greg James outside the BBC studios for his BBC Radio 1 show.

The Levitating hitmaker and the radio presenter, 37, tried to blend in with the public as they sat outside a coffee shop.

The duo hilariously held up newspapers with eye holes cut out to hide their faces behind, as they watched the street to choose the lucky individual.

Once she and Greg had chosen their unsuspecting pᴀsserby, they jumped up and ran over to man.

Immediately the trio were surrounded by BBC staff wearing hi-vis vests, who swung colourful flags.

One staff member even dangled a glittering disco ball from a stepstool, while others held up a sign that read: ‘Congratulations, you are the first person to hear Dua Lipa’s brand new song’.

Dua and Greg could be seen to be giggling as they let the lucky man listen to the song through headphones.
