Deep, bold purple has been named by many fashion insiders as the hue of the season, and now, it has been given the nod of approval by none other than our favorite fashion mermaid, Dua Lipa.

The singer and now actor graced the red carpet at London’s Odeon Luxe Leicester Square theater today for the world premiere of her new film, Argylle. For the occasion, she dressed in head-to-toe purple—literally—matching her ombre Mardi Gras-purple waves to her sequin Gucci gown. The strapless statement dress was covered in sequins in different shades of purple—violet, tyrian, burgundy, midnight—and featured a cup bra, a corset bodice which cinched her at the waist, and a floor-length skirt which featured a subtle dark cheetah print.

Lipa let the dress take the spotlight, pairing it simply with a gold choker with two cheetah heads at the ends, plus a matching gold ring. Her makeup look was vampy and included a hot black smoky eye and some soft cold-girl blush.

Lipa stars alongside Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill in Argylle, which tells the story of “an introverted spy novelist is drawn into the activities of a sinister underground syndicate,” per IMDb. It’s her first major role, having only made a couple cameos as Mermaid Barbie in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. And, like in the doll film, Lipa will also provide original music for the title track and score in Argylle, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

Others in the film cast include Ariana DeBose, John Cena, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Sam Rockwell.
