Jason Momoa: “The future of the Aquaman series is not positive”

Although Jason Momoa has wanted to play Aquaman for a long time, the actor admitted that the series may end soon.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jason Momoa mentioned the future of the superhero film series Aquaman and the new film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. In it, the actor admitted that the series looks like it will end soon.

“If the audience loves this movie, there may be a possibility (for a sequel),” Jason Momoa shared, “However at the present time, I think the future is not very positive.”

In fact, DC Studios has had a huge change when James Gunn and Peter Safran became co-presidents at the studio in 2022. They first took completely different directions when eliminating Henry Cavill as Superman. . Therefore, Aquaman is completely capable of being the next movie project to be scrapped in the new DC Cinematic Universe.

However, Jason Momoa still expressed his desire to continue playing this sea god in many future films.

“If there’s a place for me in their (James Gunn and Peter Safran) world, I’m willing to be a part of it. This is my home, Warner and DC are definitely my home. I truly I love this role, so I think everything will be decided if the audience loves the movie,” the actor affirmed.

Aquaman Part 2 follows Arthur Curry aka Aquaman on a new journey as Black Manta returns for another attempt at revenge against Atlantis. Patrick Wilson will return as Aquaman’s half-brother, who teams up with the character to stop Black Manta.
