Tina Knowles Apologizes For 'Disrespecting' Janet Jackson

The post, shared by Instagram user @let68, criticized the prices for tickets to Janet’s concert, all exceeding $2000.

“You want Beyonce prices, have real production. Just disgusted. I’m not the only one… oh the DMs I’m getting. Way to thank your fans for years of support,” the post said.

Tina Knowles addressed the situation through an Instagram Reel, acknowledging that she sometimes likes posts without thoroughly reading them, trusting the integrity of the people she follows.

“I received a phone call that I’m trending for liking a post about ticket prices and an artist overcharging,” Knowles explained.

“First of all, being on the other side of that, I know better than anyone what a great production costs, and that it’s expensive,” she continued. “And I would never criticize another artist, let alone Janet Jackson, who is the queen of production.”

She referred to The Jacksons as “the first family of music” and assured her four million followers that she loves and respects them.

“Secondly, I stay away from negativity. If you follow me then you know that I’m not involved in the mess,” clarified Knowles. “What I am guilty of is liking posts, going through when I’m in a big hurry, and I don’t have time to really read and liking things because I trust that these are people that I follow. That was a big mistake.”

In her video caption, Tina expressed her sadness over the situation and emphasized Janet Jackson’s iconic status. She highlighted Janet’s influence on Destiny’s Child, mentioning that she took the group to see Janet when they were 15 years old.

Janet Jackson, currently on her tenth concert tour, the record-breaking Janet Jackson: Together Again, became the subject of scrutiny due to the controversy. The tour, featuring opening acts Lil’ Kim and TLC, spans 84 shows across the US, Canada, Japan, and the Bahamas and Philippines. Originally scheduled for 2020, the tour was postponed due to the pandemic, aligning with 2024, marking Janet’s 50th anniversary in the music industry.

Meanwhile, irrespective of ticket prices or controversies, Janet Jackson continues to captivate massive crowds. As festival lineups unfold, R&B enthusiasts eagerly anticipate her performance at Lovers & Friends this year, showcasing her enduring influence in the music industry.
