The Kansas City Chiefs are rooting for Caitlin Clark. During the March madness, the Iowa Hawkeyes nimble point guard proved her might once more by reaching the championship NCAA game in women’s college basketball.

After Clark and the Hawkeyes defeated UConn, a game that ended controversially, the Chiefs sent out a post in support of the 22-year-old.

You cheered for us. Now it’s our turn! All of Chiefs Kingdom is rooting you on tonight.

There was an old photo attached with the message from the Chiefs. In it, Clark (highlighted) appeared to be standing in between a few unnamed boys, wearing Chiefs gear.

Clark smiled brightly in the photo, donning the red, yellow, and white Chiefs shirt and matching shorts. The boys perhaps had the same matching outfits as her, but it was hard to guess because their part of the image was in black and white.

Caitlin Clark’s favorite Kansas City Chiefs player

Even though Clark grew up in Iowa, she has cheered for the Kansas City Chiefs ever since her early teens. She’s a massive Patrick Mahomes fan and learned a lot about handling pressure from the three-time Super Bowl champion.

In a recent one-on-one with Colin Cowherd on his FS1 show The Herd, NFL Network’s Peter Schrager shed some light on how Clark remains connected with the Chiefs. Schrager told Cowherd that during the 2022 NFL Combine, he was staying at the same hotel as the Iowa women’s basketball team. That was possible because the schedule for the Big 10 games and the Combine coincided.

While he was busy researching, Schrager met with the Sports Information Director of Iowa, who introduced him to Caitlin Clark.

You know our star player, Caitlin; she's a die-hard Chiefs fan; she loves Mahomes.

Peter Schrager revealed to Cowherd

He got in touch with Chiefs general manager Brett Veach about his meeting. Afterward, he put her on a text chain with Veach.

The three of us, before every one of these Iowa games, Veach and I are texting Caitlin Clark, who's now the [biggest sports star] in the world.

Schrager remarked

Clark’s rise to fame has been nothing short of monumental. She holds the record for most 3-pointers by any college basketball athlete, irrespective of gender, in NCAA tournaments, along with being the NCAA Division 1 scoring leader. Her total points gained in college finished at 3,685 points.

If you had told me that before my college career started, I would've laughed in your face and been like, 'No, you're insane.

Clark said in March

Clark and the Hawkeyes will now face the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks in the final of NCAA Division 1 on Sunday, April 7, at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland.
