Erik Spoelstra’s ex-wife Nikki Sapp makes emotional statement after brutal trolling following his $120m Miami Heat deal.

MIAMI Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra has signed a $120 million extension immediately following his divorce from Nikki Sapp.

The situation caused many fans to troll Sapp on social media, getting into parts of her personal life she felt didn’t want open to the public.

On Friday, she released an emotional statement on Instagram regarding the invasion of privacy.

“It’s been an interesting couple of days. It’s weird (and kind of scary) to have strangers opine on something so deeply personal,” Sapp wrote.

“It’s hurtful to see how cruel people can be, judging the character and integrity of others while knowing nothing about them.

She said she is trying to work on enjoying the next phase of her life while also blocking out the noise from fans.

Sapp re-shared a “way to fumble the bag” comment made by a troll recently to show the harassment she was facing.

“I’m a person, not a character or robot,” Sapp wrote

“I get why ‘celebrities’ have to turn their brains off to this stuff.

“And I see how celebrities and regular people alike could easily succumb to the sadness that these ‘keyboard warriors’ want them to feel.”

Sapp and Spoelstra divorced in November 2023. They were together for seven years.

They have three children – 5-year-old Santiago, 3-year-old Dante and 1-year-old Ruby.

Sapp is a former Heat dancer and the host of the The Know with Nikki Spo podcast.

Spoelstra has coached the Heat for 16 years, winning two championships.

The Heat most recently made the championship game last year but lost to the Denver Nuggets.
