“That little light-skinned f**ker..” LeBron James claims Steph Curry single-handedly changed the ‘no lead is safe’ narrative

LeBron James said Steph Curry changed the ‘no lead is safe’ narrative in NBA.

LeBron James has made his debut as a podcaster with former NBA player JJ Redick. On Tuesday, the first episode of the ‘Mind the Game’ podcast was released. The much-anticipated podcast had everything fans were hoping for. The duo touched on several topics about the game and the league. However, the subject that caught the attention was when James took the opportunity to praise Steph Curry.

LeBron James and Steph Curry are currently the biggest stars in the NBA. But James recently credited Curry as the game-changer of the league. Redick started the topic of the difference between the game in his early career and now. He admitted that in his rookie years, the Orlando Magic’s guard would get to play all 12 minutes of the final quarter only if the team had a double-digit lead. Fans would leave arenas as a big lead going into the fourth was automatically considered a win.

But things have changed now after 15 years as the games can take a turn in a matter of seconds. According to James, the reason behind these last-moment game-changers is none other than ‘Chef Curry.’ The 39-year-old said that Curry changed the ‘no lead is safe’ narrative in today’s game. James said:

You know why? Because I believe in 08-09 or whenever that little light-skinned f**ker came in the league that's in Golden State, he changed that whole narrative.

LeBron James said

James further compared Curry to NFL star Patrick Mahomes for changing the narrative in the NBA. Curry, with his amazing shooting abilities, has very often changed the result of the games in the very last moments. Mahomes, the fresh Superbowl champ is also known for staging and orchestrating unreal comebacks in football. The ability of the two players to turn the game in their favor is unbelievable.

Steph Curry is among the top clutch players this year

LeBron James’ claim of Steph Curry changing the game during the very last seconds is backed up by the latter’s performance this year. The guard is on the list of nominees for this year’s Clutch Player of the Year award. The Golden State Warriors star is currently the second on the list behind the Chicago Bulls’ DeMar DeRozan. Despite being second on the list, Curry leads the league in clutch points.

Last month Curry won the game for the Golden State Warriors by hitting a three-pointer against the Phoenix Suns with less than three seconds left on the clock. In the back-and-forth game, none of the teams were able to get a safe lead. However, Curry shocked the NBA world yet again by showing his unreal under-pressure shooting to secure the win.

The player on multiple occasions has proven his credibility as a clutch player. This season there have been multiple games that teams won by two or three points indicating the increase in frequency of the ‘no lead is safe’ narrative. Nearly every day recently NBA fans witness a game where the team wins by one player’s clutch final moment.
