New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been accused of “rubbing people the wrong way”, after the NFL star’s feud with TV presenter Jimmy Kimmel reached boiling point.

The American football player was faced with a scathing attack by Kimmel, after Rodgers accused him of being on the list of named associates of convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Speaking on the ESPN network ahead of the list’s release, which has since not named Kimmel, Rodgers made the false accusation and suggested the host’s name would be amongst the 150 people.

Rodgers told the Pat McAfee Show: “There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are really hoping it [the list] doesn’t come out.”

He added: ” “If that list comes out, I definitely will be popping some sort of bottle.”

On social media, Kimmel furiously rebutted Rodgers’ claims, and posted a scathing response to his allegation.

Kimmel raged at Rodgers: “Dear A**hole: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality.

“Your reckless words put my family in danger. Keep it up and we will debate the facts further in court.”

Rodgers previously caused controversy within the NFL after claiming he had found an “alternative method” to protecting himself from coronavirus instead of being vaccinated, despite a strict vaccine policy for players implemented by the League.

Discussing the Kimmel-Rodgers feud, American Sports Reporter Aaron McMann said the NFL star has a tendency to “rub people the wrong way” with his comments.

McMann told GB News: “I think there’s a little bit of frustration, anger coming out of him. He’s built an outlet for himself, but at the same time too, he’s kind of polarised things as well.

“He claimed he was immunised not vaccinated because there was some alternative method that he was able to find. It rubs some folks the wrong way, at the time the NFL had a vaccine policy for players.

“He was kind of immune to that and it certainly created headlines for the United States and it was it was certainly a topic of discussion for a while.”

McMann then defended Jimmy Kimmel amid his feud with Rodgers, stating there is “no proof” that Kimmel was involved with Jeffrey Epstein.

McMann explained: “It was a really weird situation because here you had an NFL quarterback go on a program on the ESPN sports cable network in the United States, which is owned by the same network in Disney that in which airs Jimmy Kimmel’s programming.

“So it was a weird couple of days. He was widely criticised for it being that there was no proof, and since then there has been no proof.

“It’s created quite a stir for both Pat McAfee who aired the comments and Rodgers as well.”
