Footage Shows Suns’ DeAndre Ayton Disrespecting Chris Paul Twice During Game 3, Left Arena Before Speaking To Media (VIDEO)

Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton
The Suns got a much-needed victory over the Nuggets, outlasting Denver 121–114 to cut the series deficit to 2–1. However, one member of the team was not happy about his play or how he was used during the game in the second half.

Center DeAndre Ayton played just 26 minutes and had four points and nine rebounds. With five minutes left in the game, coach Monty Williams opted to sit Ayton in favor of backup center Jock Landale, who produced six points and seven rebounds in his 22 minutes.

Ayton clearly did not like that decision.

During a timeout, point guard Chris Paul was caught on camera trying to cheer up Ayton, but Ayton ignored him twice as he reached his hand out for a shake.

Things got worse after the game as Ayton left the locker room before the media had a chance to ask him about his performance and feelings on Williams’s decision, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.

Ayton, who averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds this season, has had an unfriendly relationship with the team and Williams.

He still managed to get a max contract amid heavy trade rumors. He signed a four-year, $133 million offer sheet with the Pacers, a deal that the Suns ultimately matched.

If the Suns want to get somewhere with Paul out, Ayton is going to have to play better and be a much better professional.
