NBA All-Star Ja Morant returned to the court last month at the FedExForum as the Grizzlies beat the Houston Rockets 130-125. Things finally started to get back to normal as the conversation around him was only about his play on the basketball court.

That has once again changed.

A recent story from The Washington Post is shedding light on his bad behavior yet again as they spoke on an incident that took place in the summer involving Morant and a shoe salesman.

Givon Busby, the shoe salesman, stated he spent roughly an hour in the back of a sneaker store hiding from the Memphis Grizzlies superstar after the All-Star guard threatened him. Busby went to the police with this information but claimed he never heard from them again.

“I was actually afraid,” Busby said.

According to The Washington Post, the Grizzlies worked with the police behind the scenes, which means they were well aware of his behavior.

Last month, the NBA suspended Morant for eight games without pay for “conduct detrimental to the league.” The punishment followed an incident where Morant was seen in an Instagram Live video holding a gun at a nightclub outside Denver.

The suspension included the five games Morant had already missed since the incident. The 23-year-old’s conduct “was irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous,” Adam Silver said in a statement. “It also has serious consequences given his enormous following and influence, particularly among young fans who look up to him.

The same month, the police department in Glendale, Colorado, a suburb of Denver, said the agency would not recommend charges against Morant.

The Memphis Grizzlies are currently second in the Western Conference with just two more games to play in the regular season.
