Lakers’ D’Angelo Russell Forced To Move Unauthorized Drink from Podium: “Fine Me” (VIDEO)

D’Angelo Russell drink on table and woman taking it

Following the Lakers’ Game 3 victory over the Grizzlies on Saturday night, G D’Angelo Russell found himself playing defense when he was told by an unidentified Lakers or league staff member to “put his drink away during the postgame press conference because it isn’t partnered with the NBA.”

The drink, coco5, is partnered with several big names like Russell, Derrick Rose, Charles Barkley, and Devin Booker, who is the majority owner and ambassador.

Instead of putting it away, Russell pushed back and said, “You gonna have to fine me.”

The drink would eventually be taken off the table.

The video of Russell’s press conference has millions of impressions and has been viewed more than 2 million times.

Without him firing back at the young lady, the clip never would’ve made the rounds, which turned out to be great promo.

D’Angelo Russell is currently in the midst of his second sting with the Lakers after he was traded there this past regular season.

D’Angelo Russell was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers as the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA draft. He played for the Lakers for two seasons, from 2015-2017. During his time with the Lakers, Russell showed flashes of his potential, but also faced some controversy, including a widely publicized incident in which he secretly recorded a conversation with his teammate Nick Young about Young’s personal life, which then became public.

In 2017, the Lakers traded Russell to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Brook Lopez and the 27th pick in the 2017 draft.

His stint with the team could be extended this offseason, but for now, they need him to play well for this playoff run.
