Michael Jordan’s NBA Finals Sneakers Set Record Auction Price

Michael Jordan's 'Last Dance' NBA Finals Shoes Set Record, 44% OFF

A historic moment unfolded on Friday as a collection of six NBA Finals-worn shoes, dubbed “The Dynasty Collection,” belonging to the Chicago Bulls icon Michael Jordan shattered the global auction sale record. Sotheby’s reported a remarkable sale of $8,032,800, establishing a new pinnacle for game-worn shoes.

This extraordinary collection comprised one shoe from each of the championship years when Jordan and the Bulls secured the NBA title: Air Jordan VI (1991), Air Jordan VII (1992), Air Jordan VIII (1993), Air Jordan XI (1996), Air Jordan XII (1997), and Air Jordan XIV (1998). Jordan earned the NBA Finals MVP title in each of these triumphant years. The buyer’s identity remains undisclosed.

The origin of this remarkable collection traces back to former Bulls public relations director Tim Halland, who, foreseeing the team’s success, asked Jordan for a shoe from the 1991 NBA Finals if the Bulls emerged victorious. Over the course of the Bulls dynasty, Jordan graciously fulfilled this request.

This achievement adds another chapter to the saga of Jordan’s shoe auction records. Last year, a different pair of his shoes, the Air Jordan XIII Breds worn in Game 2 of the 1998 Finals, set a milestone by selling for $2,238,000, marking the highest sale price for a single pair of shoes.
