The Pursuit of Happyness actor Will Smith was working with Claws Conservancy for a documentary on the conservation of Africa. During the shoot, a lioness was shot with a tranquilizer dart to fit a big cat in a tracking collar. However, things spiraled quickly when the lioness died after being tranquilized.

Oscar-winner was filming a documentary on conservation in Africa when the incident occurred. Botswana’s Department of Wildlife and National Parks had brought in an independent vet to investigate the sudden demise of the animal.

Numerous Twitter users have reposted it, and people are criticizing the Oscar winner for his carelessness. It is unclear if Smith’s documentary will have the “No Animals Have Been Harmed” tag.
