The Dallas Cowboys lost again in the playoffs last season, making many people think they would let go of quarterback Dak Prescott.

But Jerry Jones decided to keep both Prescott and head coach Mike McCarthy. Now as the offseason and trade has begun, as per Jones’ “all-in” plans, the franchise is trying to adjust their cap money.
Till now, the Cowboys have “have signed one free agent, linebacker Eric Kendricks, and re-signed cornerback Jourdan Lewis, running back Rico Dowdle and special-teamers C.J. Goodwin and Trent Sieg.” But Prescott’s brother reminded about another player, who he thinks would have been a valuable asset for Dallas if they had chosen him before the Ravens.
Dak Prescott’s big brother is unhappy with Dallas!
Dak Prescott’s brother Tad Prescott is currently hitting headlines due to his off-field and sometimes alleged controversial remarks on NFL teams or players. In a latest episode of I Am Athlete, Tad revealed that he believes Cowboys should have seriously pursued Derrick Henry this year. He mentioned that while Henry reportedly considered moving to California, he actually lives in Dallas and has two homes there, as well as shares a good relationship with QB Prescott.
Tad expressed, “I know he lives here in Dallas. I believe he has two homes down here in Dallas….He even made the comment himself that towards the back end of the screw, are you believe, says that he feels like that was a great organization to play for.” The brother believes that given Henry’s interest in being in Dallas and his connection with Dak, it would have made sense for the Cowboys to try to recruit him. Tad mentioned, “I think, reaching out to him, trying to figure out a way to get him here in Dallas, would have been maybe one of my first steps.”
Are Cowboys in need of a running back?
Dak Prescott had a decent season stats wise – “passer rating of 105.9 with 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in 17 games in 2023.” He accumulated these stats without a solid starter running back, having an injured line of players and a lack of a true starting wide receiver. However, as he moved forward to the playoffs, Prescott couldn’t bring a lot of improvement in the team, as the entire roster failed drastically to the Packers with a 48-32 score.
In such a scenario, as suggested by Tad Prescott, Derrick Henry would have indeed solved the Cowboys’ RB problem. But as per Henry, Dallas never reached out to him in his free-agency period. He said, “Baltimore was showing the most interest and was somewhere I wanted to be. I’m glad we got it done, but the Cowboys never called at all.”
This resulted in adding fuel to the fire. Had they called him earlier, Henry revealed that he would have definitely gone to the Cowboys.
