Rashee Rice affidavit reveals Chiefs player’s recklessness that puts him in bad light
The NFL star was driving at a high speed before the incident

NFL player Rashee Rice was driving a speed of 119mph before he caused a major crash involving six vehicles, according to new information from his arrest.
The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver surrendered himself to police after taking “full responsibility” for the crash, which left four people injured in Dallas, Texas. He was taken to jail after turning himself in to the authorities.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by the Dallas Morning News, Rice’s Lamborghini Urus had reached the top speed of 119mph less than five seconds before the collision occurred. A Corvette driven by SMU wide receiver Teddy Knox, which was also involved in the crash, was traveling 116mph 7.5 seconds before the chain-reaction collision.
The two cars “made multiple aggressive maneuvers to get through traffic,” the affidavit said.
The resulting crash on the North Central Expressway left at least seven people with injuries, with Rice and four other men seen by witnesses leaving the scene without attending to those who needed medical attention.
Will Rashee Rice go to prison?
Rice is now facing eight felony charges in connection with the incident, which could see the 23-year-old go to prison if found guilty.
He is facing one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury, according to police.
Just like Rice, Knox turned himself in on Friday and faces the same charges as Rice, who was his former teammate at SMU. He has been suspended by the university’s football program.
Police confirmed that the passengers in the two speeding cars who left the scene will not be charged.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Rice, who will stand trial to face the charges leveled against him. But if he is found guilty, it could signal the end of his NFL career, which began on a promising note after being selected by Kansas City in the 2023 NFL Draft.
He recorded 79 catches and 938 yards with a team-leading seven touchdown receptions in 16 games, as well as recording 26 catches for 262 yards and a score in four playoff games to help the Chiefs secure their second consecutive Super Bowl title.
