A car in the Chiefs’ wide receiver’s name crashed and sparked a police manhunt for him

Rashee Rice was involved in a car crash involving six vehicles in Dallas on March 30, sparking a manhunt for the NFL star and now the Kansas City Chiefs will also investigate the matter as Mark Donovan (President) vowed to “get to the bottom of it.”

To be clear, we don’t know if they were racing or if Rice was actually driving or even in the cars, only that it is registered to his name, but the pile-up involved half a dozen cars, including a Lamborghini and a Corvette.

Rice has been said to have been participating in an illegal street race prior to the accident in northeast Dallas at the North Central Expressway, according to Dallas Morning News, and the Chiefs have been quick to act in order to protect their reputation.

“We’ll get to the bottom of it,” Donovan said to KCMO Talk Radio’s Mundo in the Morning show. “We’ll gather the facts and we’ll react accordingly.”

Rice had a breakout 2023 season that saw him become the Chiefs‘ second most-important receiver behind Travis Kelce and lead the team in touchdowns, as he became heavily favored by Andy Reid‘s brain and Patrick Mahomes‘ plays.

But this is a drama that could completely interrupt his career depending on the level of his involvement and any potential charges brought to him by Dallas or federal police, but they have not yet named any names.

“The occupants of the Lamborghini and the Corvette all ran from the scene,” law enforcement told The Dallas Morning News. “Without stopping to determine if anyone needed medical help or providing their information.”

Rice’s attorney offers a statement

He is the second figure connected to Rice to offer comment on the matter, following the 23-year-old’s attorney who declared his client is working with the authorities.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt in the accident although dashcam footage showed it could have easily been a completely different story.

“On behalf of Rashee Rice, his thoughts are with everyone impacted by the automobile accident on Saturday,” Royce West said, as reported by Adam Schefter. “Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly.
