With social media becoming increasingly prominent, athletes have also found their voices through the platforms.
It often leads to disputes and social media confrontations between individuals who have real-life conflicts. One such feud between Antonio Brown and Damar Hamlin has been making rounds, and it has escalated into a heated exchange on Twitter.
As tempers flare with accusations flying on Twitter, the unfolding feud offers an insight into how people use social media to brew something up. The former NFL wide receiver Brown is already infamous for his off-field persona and lack of composure on his emotions. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills safety Hamlin is also not backing down from trolling him.
Antonio Brown provokes and trolls Hamlin with photoshopped image
Antonio Brown took to Twitter to leak out Hamlin’s old tweets. Moreover, he still needed to be done as he shared a morphed image of Hamlin. In the picture, he has photoshopped Hamlin instead of American rapper 50 Cent, referring to the 2005 movie “Get Rich or Die Tryin.“
Hamlin has expressed his disappointment in Brown’s behavior, declaring he expects better from a reputed NFL figure. However, he refuses to back down and is cowed by Brown’s antics. He wrote, “Guess you are playing lame games on Twitter with my situation because I ain’t DM you back. I pray God doesn’t ever let me turn into a burnt-out old head like you… I used to look up to you damn near s*** sad [for real]. Talk about a clone. Bring the real AB back!” Do you think Antonio Brown has crossed a line with his comments this time?
Hamlin and Brown’s social media feud history
Antonio Brown’s constant efforts to get a heated reaction back from Hamlin have not ended well with the football community. While fans are already quite critical of Brown’s mental health, resulting in these social media outbreaks, Hamlin called him a “clown” after the former NFL wide receiver poked fun at him, starting the feud with a picture claiming he died two seasons ago after leaving the field in an ambulance.
Hamlin also said, “You were supposed to be an example setter. Now, you are the biggest weirdo we know! Get off Twitter & go do some work with some kids or something.” Brown attempted to shift the narrative by portraying himself as the victim of misunderstanding. However, it only exacerbates the conflict, further fueling the flame of animosity between the two athletes.
Despite all the social media battles, the fans appreciated Hamlin’s maturity in handling the situation better by not feeding into Brown’s trap. Do you think he should further ignore Brown or keep on the feud? Let us know in the comments below.
