NSW Police won’t charge Taylor Swift’s dad over alleged assault of Sydney paparazzi photographer
Superstar Taylor Swift’s dad won’t have any “Bad Blood” with Australia after police decided they would not charge him over allegations he assaulted a paparazzi photographer.
Photo agency Matrix owner Ben McDonald had alleged Swift’s father Scott Swift assaulted him at Sydney’s ferry wharves early on February 27.
But the Swift family denied the furore.
The global popster and her team had just finished partying into the early hours on-board the luxury 120ft superyacht Quantum when the photographer tried to snap a photo.

“As she got closer, the security shoved his umbrella in my face and camera, then as she got in the car her dad decides to charge me and punch me in the chops,” Mr McDonald told NCA NewsWire after the alleged run in.
“I didn’t realise it was her dad to start with.
“I looked back at the pictures and saw he was holding hands with Taylor – it then became evident that was her father.”
On Tuesday, NSW Police confirmed to NCA NewsWire that North Shore Police Area Command officers investigated the allegations after receiving the report from Mr McDonald.
After their investigation, it was determined no further police action would be taken against Mr Swift.
The allegations went viral after Mr Swift travelled back to the US with his daughter and his team.

A spokesman for the Swift family had denied the furore in a statement to celebrity website Page Six last month.
“Two individuals were aggressively pushing their way towards Taylor, grabbing at her security personnel, and threatening to throw a female staff member into the water,” the statement said.
Mr McDonald did not require any medical treatment other than a “sore chop and a bruised ego”.
Taylor Swift was in Sydney for the Australian leg of her worldwide Eras Tour, selling 600,000 tickets to Australian fans.
