Rashee Rice could lose millions after being sued by two victims of the multi-vehicle crash in Dallas

Last month, Rashee Rice, a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, was involved in a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas. As a result, he is currently facing serious legal trouble and a warrant was issued for his arrest. After turning himself in, he was held in the Tri-City Jail in DeSoto, Texas, but was later released on bond.

Fox 4 Kansas City reported that Rice and SMU cornerback Theodore Knox are being sued for $1 million in a Dallas County lawsuit. The plaintiffs, Irina Gromova and Edvard Petrovskiy, are seeking compensation for the injuries they sustained during the accident.

According to the court document, the injuries include ‘trauma to the brain, lacerations to the face requiring stitches, multiple contusions about the body, disfigurement, internal bleeding and other internal and external injuries that may only be fully revealed over the course of medical treatment.’ Both plaintiffs were at the wheel at the moment of the crash.

Rice potentially faces prison time

Rashee Rice is already facing eight counts for his involvement and responsibility in the multiple crashes: Six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving severe bodily injury, and one count of aggravated assault, according to the arrest warrant.

Rice potentially faces up to 35 years in prison if he is found guilty of all charges that he is accused of. Also, according to WFAA Channel 8 in Dallas the police discovered 10.8 grams of marijuana in the vehicle that Rice was driving, a potential Class B midsemeanor punishable with up to 180 in jail.

According to the police investigation, the wide receiver of the Chiefs was driving at a speed that was much higher than the limit allowed. As per the affidavit of the arrest warrant, his top speed was measured at 119 miles per hour just before the crash. Rice was driving a Lamborghini and was accompanied by a Chevrolet Corvette.
