The legendary rapper said he has nothing but ‘love and respect’ for the 2024 Republican presidential candidate.

In a new interview, legendary rapper Snoop Dogg sang Donald Trump’s praises. Although he technically didn’t endorse the former president in the upcoming election, could an endorsement be coming soon?

Speaking to the Sunday Times, Snoop Dogg claimed that Trump has helped him in the past. “Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me,” Snoop stated. “He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris.” Harris, co-founder of Death Row Records, infamously helmed a nationwide drug trafficking operation and was pardoned by Trump in 2021.

“So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump,” said Snoop about the pardon and he commended Trump’s previous presidential administration as well.

‘That’s great work for the president and his team on the way out. They did some great work while they was in there and they did some great work on their way out,” said Snoop. “Let them know that I love what they did…It is amazing what the work of God can actually bring to life to make people understand that there is a God.”

This behavior is quite different for the “Doggystyle” artist, who has made jokes at Trump’s expense, parodied his assassination and even encouraged government workers to not vote for him in 2019 because “[Trump] doesn’t give a f**k about y’all.”

“Nobody’s dealing with the real issue with this f**king clown as president, and the sh** that we dealing with out here, so I wanted to take time out to push pause on a party record and make one of these records for the time being,” Snoop Dogg said at the time.

The 2024 presidential season is only just getting underway, and so far there have been no celebrity endorsements. Yet there are plenty of political moves being made on both sides of the aisle.
