Steve Harvey Hated All The Men His Daughters Have Dated Except For One

Steve Harvey had ‘pure hatred’ for all the men his daughters have dated except for one rather famous one who passed the test.

It’s normal for fathers to dislike any guy who steps within 10 feet of their daughters. Fathers around the world can agree with the internal anguish that arises when seeing their little girls grow up and start dating. Even the former President of the United States, Barack Obama, “didn’t want to like” his daughter’s boyfriend, Rory Farquharson.

Since approvals are few and far between, it always comes as a shock when a father actually approves of a daughter’s romantic partner. Case in point: Steve Harvey‘s stamp of approval of Michael B. Jordan.

Steve Harvey Normally Loathes The Men His Daughters Bring Home

Steve Harvey admitted on numerous occasions that he does not like the men his daughters choose to date, wishing that his daughters would pick up at least one of his books on relationships.

Most people looked at Harvey’s boyfriend-hating comments lightly until he unexpectedly approved of his daughter Lori Harvey’s boyfriend, Michael B. Jordan.

In a 2021 interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Harvey was asked about his thoughts towards Jordan (who was given the People’s Sexiest Man Alive title in 2020) courting his youngest daughter. Harvey’s response was wrapped in his usual humorous flare, saying,”Well, first of all, let’s be clear about something. He is a nice guy, but he is not the sexiest man alive to me.”

Harvey then continued to talk about Jordan’s character and the times Jordan spent with the Harvey family.

“I like him, man… I’m pulling for him… He’s a great guy. I met his father and everything.”

This comment may seem insignificant. However, Kimmel shined light on how important Steve Harvey’s approval was after, once again, highlighting his disdain for previous boyfriends. “You didn’t approve of the previous suitors?” Kimmel asked. “Nothing ever… pure hatred,” Harvey responded.

A few months later, Harvey appeared on The Ellen Show where he further commented on how Michael B. Jordan wooed him by being a stand-up guy, saying “You know what? I have tried not to like him. I have tried to find something wrong with him that I can dig in… because I done got rid of all of them,” Harvey said. “This guy is such a good guy, man. He’s one of the nicest guys… I just can’t find nothing wrong with him.”

Later in the interview, Harvey expressed his hope for Jordan and his daughter’s future together:

“I’m hoping this last because this is a really, really good guy.”

Well, Michael B. Jordan must’ve felt really good after this public display of affection from his girlfriend’s father.

Unfortunately, after about a year of dating, Michael B. Jordan and Lori Harvey split. Steve Harvey didn’t share much regarding his thoughts about the breakup, despite his previous hope for the relationship’s longevity.

However, Harvey did wish Jordan the best after the public break up, saying, “relationships are hard. They’re in a Hollywood-type relationship, and I’m cheering for them.”
