While Steve Harvey‘s talk show may have been canceled earlier this spring, that doesn’t mean he’s going away anytime soon. In fact, earlier this week, news broke that Family Feud is launching in South Africa next year and he will be the host of the program.

In light of the exciting announcement, the longtime comedian sat down with eNCA reporter Heidi Giokos to talk about the upcoming project and reflect on his career.

“If I could get back the money I lost in bad investments, I could quit working right now. I could stop. I’ve made so many bad decisions,” Steve admitted. “The biggest investment I’ve ever made was my investment in people. That’s been my greatest investment. That return has been the greatest thing I’ve ever seen.”

Steve, who once was homeless for three years while trying to get his start in comedy, then shared a message about never giving up during the hard times.

Every time you overcome one challenge, I’ve got news for you, there’s another one. Another one right over there. The road to success is always under construction. Cause what do you know?”

While continuing, he then made a reference to his two divorces. Before marrying his current wife, Marjorie Harvey, in 2007, he was married to Marcia Harvey for 14 years and Mary Lee Harvey for nine.

“If you’ve never failed, what do you know? You know nothing. You’ve got to get a divorce to find the right chick. I know a little bit about that,” Steve said while chuckling.

While his honesty is undoubtedly refreshing, it’s definitely not the first time Steve has been so open about the struggles in his relationships. In 2014, Steve got candid with Essence, and told the outlet that when he first met Marjorie in 1990, he was not yet settled with his career or finances.

“Before a man can be of use to a woman … he’s got to know who he is, what he does, and how much he’s going to make,” Steve told Essence.

Eventually everything worked out though, and the two tied the knot and today share a beautiful family. Marjorie had been married before Steve and has three kids of her own — Lori, Jason, and Morgan. From Steve’s past two marriages, he has four children — Karli, Brandi, Broderick Jr., and Wynton.

Most recently, Steve and Marjorie celebrated their 12th anniversary this summer with a long vacation around Italy, Croatia, France, and more.

At the end of the trip, Steve gushed on Instagram about how in love he is with his wife.

“Truth is…I love her and she loves me, thats a fact …… you know 2people really can be in love …. it really is possible❤️,” he wrote.
