New Heights and Lapresse

The romance between musician Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce continues to blossom — and one of the parties still doesn’t quite know how it happened.

On the newest edition of the “New Heights” podcast, Travis told brother Jason and special guest Lil Dicky — maybe half-jokingly — that he still wonders how he convinced Swift to date him despite their wildly-different careers and schedules. But the two are making it work, to the chagrin of people that Lil Dicky called “bitter losers.”

Travis makes a surprising admission about Taylor

During a segment toward the end of their newest podcast episode, Travis told Jason and Lil Dicky that he is “having a blast” dealing with Swift’s ardent fans — known as “Swifties” — and he is enjoying the crossover between Swift’s music and the high-octane world of the NFL, where Travis’ Chiefs won their second consecutive Super Bowl in February.

I don’t know how I did it, because she was not into sports,” Travis said.

Kelce is hardly alone in his amazement. Swift is the world’s most popular musician; she has sold 200 million records and averages more than 100 million listeners per month on Spotify. Her new studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” is due out April 19, and her globe-spanning “Eras Tour” resumes in Europe next month.

Swifties on social media are amazed, too — and they love the honesty from the man dating their idol. One said their “love is just so beautiful” while another remarked on how their relationship was “refreshing”. A third loved the way the Kelces have embraced Swifties, calling it “the best.”

It remains to be seen if Swift responds, but one thing seems certain — the romance that seemed too good to be true just keeps on getting better.
