Cardi B and Bruno Mars sure know how to turn up the heat.
On Friday, the rapper, 26, and singer, 33, dropped the official music video for their 𝑠e𝑥ually charged, ’90s R&B-inspired duet “Please Me” — and the clip is just as hot as the song itself.
The action jumps off when Cardi and Mars lock eyes at a late night meeting at a taco restaurant. Each surrounded by their respective pals, the two quickly make their way toward one another as the tune begins. A variety of suggestive dances and scenarios follow suit.
Eventually, Cardi and Mars move the part to the parking lot, where each get into their respective cars (after some playful canoodling on the hood of Cardi’s car, of course). And even though they’re traveling separately, both are still connected — singing to one another from afar in the clip’s final shot.
All in all, it’s an electrifying video, with Cardi and Mars’ chemistry off the charts. Mars directed the video too, alongside Florent Dechard.

Cardi and Mars released “Please Me” back in February, just in time for Valentine’s Day (Cardi even celebrated the holiday by jamming out to the tune with husband Offset on Instagram, promising “We’re getting real f—ing free tonight!“).
The tune is the second time the two Grammy winners have collaborated on a song together. Last year, they recorded for a remix on Mars’ 24K Magic hit “Finesse,” and eventually broke the internet with their In Living Color-inspired video (which, like the “Please Me” video, was also directed by Mars and Dechard).
“Finesse” went two-times platinum, sat at in the third spot of the Billboard‘s Hot 100 Chart, and topped both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and the Pop Songs airplay chart, according to Billboard.

The two were scheduled to go on tour together last fall but Cardi canceled so the rapper could spend more time with her daughter Kulture Kiari. Cardi had given birth to her Kulture, her first child, just 16 days earlier, and needed time for her body to recover. She was supposed to be on the road at the 6-week mark.
“As of today, I’ve decided I won’t be joining Bruno on tour this Fall,” Cardi wrote on social media on July 26. “I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically.”
“I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing,” she admitted. “Not only am I just not ready physically, I’m not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it’s not healthy for her to be on the road.”
Mars also shared his own supportive message to Cardi on social media, where he reassured the rapper that they would “share the stage when the time is right.”
