THE Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics made history during their NBA showdown on Tuesday.

Across all four quarters of the game, the NBA teams combined for just two free throws.

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was the only player to head to the line throughout the contest.

He made one of his attempts before suffering a worrying thigh injury in the third quarter.

The Celtics are now the first team in NBA history to not shoot a single free throw in a game.

Milwaukee committed just four fouls during Tuesday’s match up, the fewest in league history, per ESPN.

“[NBA Commissioner] Adam Silver is the happiest,” Bucks coach Doc Rivers joked following the contest.

“[Just] 1:57 game time. My goodness, you can go to a game and still have dinner. Unbelievable.”

Rivers was so stunned by the free throw stats he thought his staffers had given him the wrong report.

“I thought it was a physical game, and then they handed me the stat sheet, and I told them, ‘No, I need the full game,’ he continued.

“I thought it was the halftime stats. I didn’t look at the minutes.

“And then I said, ‘Wow, two free throws for a basketball game. That’s crazy.'”

The two attempted free throws shattered the previous NBA record low of 11 set in a game between the Orlando Magic and the Indiana Pacers in 2019.

On that occasion, the Pacers shot five and Orlando had six.

Tuesday’s officiating crew consisted of Marc Davis, Ben Taylor, and Danielle Scott.

The Bucks victory was overshadowed by the injury to Giannis, who limped out of the game in the third quarter.

The Greek superstar crumpled to the floor as he ran up the court during a routine play.

Antetokounmpo was seen grabbing the lower half of his left leg before being aided by teammates.

He will undergo a further MRI on Wednesday to assess the full damage.

“They’re testing him for the calf, which is obviously an MRI,” coach Rivers said.

Rivers confirmed doctors would also test for any issues with Giannis’ left Achilles and concern was “high” for the diagnosis.

“But he’s Giannis,” he added. “I think everyone probably feels the same way as I do right now. We’re just going to hope for the best.”

The Bucks remain second in the Eastern Conference and host the Magic on Wednesday.
