Margot Robbie admits she ‘had a couple of shots of tequila’ to calm her nerves before filming X-rated scenes with Wolf Of Wall Street co-star Leonardo DiCaprio

Margot Robbie has revealed that she needed some Dutch courage before filming raunchy bedroom scenes with Leonardo  DiCaprio  in Wolf Of Wall Street.

The Australian actress, 32, shared that she ‘had a couple of shots of tequila’ in an attempt to calm her nerves prior to the scenes.

She was just 22 while starring alongside the Oscar winner in the biographical comedy crime film, which included a slew of X-rated scenes.

Seducing Leonardo DiCaprio may be some women’s fantasy, but Margot Robbie needed Dutch courage for her bedroom scene with the actor in The Wolf Of Wall Street

Speaking at a Bafta: A Life In Pictures event in Piccadilly, London, on Tuesday, Margot admitted that while she looked confident on-screen, that wasn’t the case in real life.

‘I’m not going to lie; I had a couple of shots of tequila before that scene because I was nervous — very, very nervous,’ explained the star.

One scene shows Margot attempting to seduce on-screen husband Leonardo, who is over 15 years her senior, in their young daughter’s nursery.

The 2013 Martin Scorsese flick is based on the story of real New York stock broker Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio), with Margot portraying his wife Naomi Lapaglia.

Despite having breakout roles in shows such as Australia’s Neighbours, the box office hit catapulted Margot to fame following it’s release.

But it was a difficult gig for the newly famous actress, as she admitted back in 2016 that the scenes were ‘awkward’ to film and were a first for her.

Speaking out: She shared the news at the Bafta: A Life In Pictures event in Piccadilly, London, on Tuesday (pictured)

‘I’d done scenes where it’s leading into 𝓈ℯ𝓍 or 𝓈ℯ𝓍 has just finished. But I hadn’t done a start-to-finish 𝓈ℯ𝓍 scene like I did in Wolf Of Wall Street. That was my first. Tons of people are watching you,’ the actress told Vanity Fair at the time.

Continuing: ‘It’s so awkward. It’s just like, this is what you need to do – get on with it. The sooner you do it, the sooner you can stop doing it.’

And while it may have been tough, the star has starred in a slew of projects since, taking on the role of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad and Birds Of Prey.

She’s also starring in the upcoming film Barbie as the eponymous doll, alongside actor Ryan Gosling – who will portray her love interest, Ken.
