Margot Robbie looked like a Barbie brought to life when she was spotted on the set of the upcoming live-action movie about the iconic doll.

The 31-year-old actress donned a hot pink ensemble comprised of a low-cut halter crop top and and lace-up bell bottom pants that were decorated with metallic stars.

The two-time Academy Award nominee draped a long beige cardigan over her shoulders as she headed to film scenes in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday.

The blonde beauty wore her cropped locks in a chic straight style and and had on a glamorous palette of makeup that included a rosy blush, a pink lipstick and light gold eyeshadow.

She accessorized with dangly silver star earrings and tied a matching pink bandana around her neck.

The performer finished off her costume with a pair of white silver-tipped boots that were decorated with stars.

Margot beamed as she chatted with a staff member who held a black umbrella over the star’s head.

The star took some time to pose with her fans, peeking out of her car window to take photos with a female fan dressed up as Harley Quinn (a character that Robbie portrayed in three films).

According to Vulture, the film is ‘a fish-out-of-water story about a doll who is ousted from toy society for not being perfect enough.’

Another synopsis on IMDB of the movie reads: ‘A doll living in “Barbieland” is expelled for not being perfect enough and sets off on an adventure in the real world. A Live-action feature film based on the popular line of Barbie toys.’

Fans think Emma will be playing the role of Skipper, the younger sister of Barbie, thanks to her resemblance to Margot.

Also linked to the film are Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan, actress Saoirse Ronan and pop sensation Dua Lipa – but these have not yet been confirmed.

It has been rumoured that there will be different versions of Barbie and Ken, with one Barbie said to be portrayed by Issa Rae and the other might be Hari Nef.

Marvel’s Simu Liu and new Doctor Who Ncuti Gatwa are also said be playing other Kens.

New York Times reporter Kyle Buchanan recently tweeted: ‘I am hearing incredible BARBIE goss at Cannes. For one, I’m hearing that Ryan Gosling is not the only Ken in the BARBIE film. Simu Liu and Ncuti Gatwa also play Ken.

‘And, by the same token, Margot Robbie is not the film’s only Barbie. Issa Rae and Hari Nef play different Barbies…’

Meanwhile, all the way back in 2016, it had originally been announced that Amy Schumer would be taking on the role – but she bowed out just four months later.

Harley Quinn: She smiled and waved while posing with a female fan dressed up as Harley Quinn

Lovely: The blonde bombshell chatted away with fans before driving off

‘Sadly, I’m no longer able to commit to Barbie due to scheduling conflicts,’ she said at the time. ‘The film has so much promise, and Sony and Mattel have been great partners. I’m bummed but look forward to seeing Barbie on the big screen.’

However, later Amy admitted that it was less about scheduling and more about creative differences. ‘They definitely didn’t want to do it the way I wanted to do it, the only way I was interested in doing it,’ she told The Hollywood Reporter.

‘The idea that that’s just what every woman must want, right there, I should have gone, ‘You’ve got the wrong gal,’” she added.
