One Piece Could Face the Game of Thrones Treatment if Eiichiro Oda isn’t Able to Complete the Egghead Arc Before Anime

One Piece is in its Final Saga. The fans could not get any more excited by how the story has progressed. The Egghead Island arc has lived up to its expectations. While the fights came later, the backstory of Bartholomew Kuma emotionally shook up the whole fandom. Eiichiro Oda rarely fails to hit the target, and this time, it was a bullseye.

Even though One Piece has established itself as an iconic anime, the fans still fear that it might not end the way they expect it to finish. Over the years, the anime has been slowly catching up to the manga. The manga is only a few chapters ahead of the anime, and fans feel that One Piece might face the Game of Thrones treatment soon.
One Piece‘s Ending Has the Fans Worried

One Piece broke the internet with Gear 5 and entered Final Saga in the most iconic way possible. The story has been going on for more than 25 years, and it might be another five years for the Strawhat pirates to reach the end of their journey. With so much time left, the fans fear that Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus will suffer what Game of Thrones suffered in its last season.

Game of Thrones is adapted from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire. While the first few seasons were based on the books, the last couple of seasons were made without any source material. The series progressed faster than the books, and ultimately, the showrunners ran out of written material to adapt. With One Piece anime’s progress, the same thing could happen.

The Egghead Island arc is yet to reach its climax in the manga, and the anime has started to air the arc. Each episode covers almost two chapters of the manga. So, it won’t be a surprise if the anime takes a long break. Otherwise, the fans will be utterly disappointed to see an iconic manga end in such a hurry.

More Problems with One Piece

Game of Thrones had a rushed finish, and anime fans fear the same thing with One Piece. But there is another thing that bugs them. The mysteries and its revelation make Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus fascinating. They might omit them to finish the story faster. Game of Thrones also left many stones unturned with its rushed finish.

Eiichiro Oda

Fans have come up with a few disappointing endings, like Usopp telling the whole story to Kaya on her death bed, and just like the Roger Pirates, the Strawhat Pirates will also laugh after reaching Laughtale without revealing what the One Piece is. Some people also claim that Roronoa Zoro might be the main villain or that One Piece might be a clichéd ending like the friends made along the journey.

Fans have high expectations from One Piece’s ending. They believe Eiichiro Oda is a genius, and there is no way he could rush the story or have a simple ending. But if the anime gets a Game of Thrones treatment, it will be the biggest disappointment in anime history.
