It looks like history will repeat itself, the Miami Heat have made it to the playoffs as the 8th seed after defeating the Chicago Bulls at the Kaseya Center. Their head coach, Erik Spoelstra, saw this as a great opportunity to congratulate his hardworking players.
Erik decided to spread motivation in the locker to prepare his team for the big challenge ahead. He took the stage and congratulated the squad for making it to the playoffs while also making them aware that what they have achieved can’t be bought.
“I have such an appreciation for things that you can’t buy… and stuff that you have to earn, we had to earn this,” said Erik motivating the Miami Heat squad. “Forget about how you get to the playoffs but just to earn a right to get to the playoffs, you can’t buy it, you can’t influence it. We got all the money in this locker room we can’t influence anything. You have to earn it, just to get into the playoffs and I have such an appreciation for it.”
The Head Coach made his players realize the importance of their achievement which is very beneficial to the self-confidence of a player as an individual. It also affects the overall confidence of the team resulting in great plays. Erik is right in his statements as well, there is no denying that the Heat have pulled off yet another miracle move in the NBA. Now that fans are excited to see how far they go in the playoffs.
The Miami Heat will face the Boston Celtics in the first round of the Playoffs
Last season Miami Heat surprised everyone by making it to the championship series despite qualifying as the 8th seed in the playoffs. Now this time they would be hoping to repeat the same, however, repeating the same feat won’t be easy. The current circumstances are very daunting as they will be facing the Boston Celtics.
The Celtics are currently one of the best teams in the league right now. They are among the quite handful ones who can challenge the mighty Denver Nuggets and possibly win. The Miami Heat on the other hand will be without their star player Jimmy Butler who is expected to miss the entire first round. Butler injured himself in Wednesday’s play-in tournament, tearing the MCL in his right knee. His absence will hurt the Heat a lot, and it would be interesting to see how they will stand up against the Celtics.
