Draymond Green victim revels in Warriors' postseason elimination

No one enjoyed the postseason downfall of the Warriors on Tuesday night more than Phoenix Suns big man Jusuf Nurkic.

Nurkic was flagrantly hit in the head by Draymond Green on on Dec. 12, 2023, at Footprint Center in Phoenix — leading to an ejection and eventual indefinite suspension for Green that required him getting counseling before he could return to the court — and then continued to feud off the court online throughout the season after Green returned from suspension in the middle of January.

That feud hit a crescendo on Tuesday after Golden State was routed in their play-in game against the 9th-seeded Sacramento Kings in Sacramento, 118-94. Nurkic posted the classic Looney Tunes “That’s All Folks!” cursive outro on social media immediately after the Dubs’ loss, then a follow-up post with two crying laughing emojis.

Green actually pretty played well Tuesday, finishing with 12 points, six assists, three rebounds, two steals and 50% shooting from the field and from three. But the Dubs couldn’t overcome a smothering defensive effort against Steph Curry, let alone an 0-for-10 shooting night for Klay Thompson — the worst 0-fer postseason game in the history of the franchise.

Nurkic and the Suns, meanwhile, are still very much in the playoffs. They’ll open a seven-game series against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday in Minneapolis.
