L’Jarius Sneed is officially a Tennessee Titan, as his $76million exit from the Kansas City Chiefs was completed Friday evening.

The Chiefs and Titans swapped seventh round picks in the trade that sent Sneed to the Music City, with Kansas City also picking up a third-round pick in next year’s draft.

Sneed wanted to be paid as one of the best defensive backs in the NFL after the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, and ideally stay in Kansas City. He got one of those two things.

Yet, it seems his current and former employers cannot stop singing his praises.

In the Titans press release announcing the move’s completion, Titans General Manager Ran Carthon considered Sneed a ‘huge get’, while the Chiefs’ social media tribute said the cornerback was ‘everything you could ask for in a teammate’.

Sneed is set to be one of the highest paid cornerbacks in the NFL after joining Tennessee

‘It’s a huge get,’ Carthon said of Sneed in a statement. ‘It gives you three top-flight corners in him and Chidobe (Awuzie) and Roger (McCreary) that can just flat-out cover people.’

Sneed was with the Chiefs for four seasons, and was instrumental in the team’s last two Super Bowl victories.

Now, he joins a Titans team looking to find their way back into a crowded AFC playoff picture.

The Texans and Jaguars will be favorites to win the AFC South in 2024, with the Colts and Titans behind them.

Sneed’s acquisition should improve the Titans chances of getting within striking distance of the postseason.
