NFL fans went into a frenzy following a genius heads-up play by Pittsburgh Steelers special teams returner Godwin Igwebuike on Saturday evening.

Igwebuike was preparing to field a kickoff in the second quarter of Pittsburgh’s must-win game against the Baltimore Ravens. After the kickoff, a clever and alert Igwebuike had the NFL rule book in the back of his mind during the play and thus supplied his team with excellent field position:

 

Needless to say, social media was going crazy over Igwebuike’s high football IQ play:


The Steelers kept their playoff hopes alive with a 17-10 over their archrivals. Pittsburgh will qualify for the postseason if the Buffalo Bills (at Miami Dolphins) or Jacksonville Jaguars (at Tennessee Titans) lose on Sunday.
