There’s apparently “mutual interest” between superstar running back Derrick Henry and a top NFC team as the 30-year-old nears free agency.

The two-time rushing champion finished out his contract with the Tennessee Titans and appears ready to for a fresh start. Henry showed he has plenty of football left after another strong season (1,167 yards, 12 touchdowns) and should garner plenty of interest on the open market.

According to the ML Football X/Twitter account, there’s “mutual interest” between Henry and the Dallas Cowboys. As the account, Henry told “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast that he wants to win a championship.

Henry’s name was mentioned aplenty in trade rumors leading up to this season’s trade deadline, but the Titans curiously held on to him despite being well out of the playoff race. So now, the Titans are likely to lose the 2020 Offensive Player of the Year for nothing.

The Cowboys make sense as a landing spot for Henry, too. Their lead running back, Tony Pollard, is also a pending free agent. Dallas will be looking to shake something up after yet another early postseason exit, this time at the hands of the Green Bay Packers.

Among all active running backs, Henry is the leader in rushing yards with 9,502. Ezekiel Elliott, another free agent to be, is second with 8,904 rushing yards. As well, Henry’s 90 rushing touchdowns are far-and-away the most among active running backs.
