Tony Dungy Didn’t Mince Words While Unleashing Criticism About Taylor Swift’s Coverage At NFL Games

Tony Dungy thinks Taylor Swift is hurting the league.

The Hall of Fame coach turned NBC analyst was asked about a poll that showed less than 25 percent of Gen Z-ers consider themselves “avid sports fans.”

“I think we’ll always have sports in some form or fashion,” Dungy told Fox News. “Some people are disenchanted with it.”

He was then asked about Taylor Swift, who has a budding romance with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

“That’s the thing that’s disenchanting people with sports now,” Dungy said. “There’s so much on the outside coming in. Entertainment value and different things that’s taking away from what really happens on the field.”

The NFL has continued to dominate TV watching, with 82 NFL games in the top 100 telecasts of 2023. Even without Swift, the numbers would still be strong.

The Chiefs are currently playing the Miami Dolphins at Arrowhead Stadium and Swift is in attendance and has been showing multiple times already. The Grammy-winning singer has been a regular at Chiefs games this season, attracting plenty of attention during the broadcasts.

The defending Super Bowl champions struggled in the second half of the season, losing five of their last 10 games.

Cold conditions will make things difficult tonight.
