$800M Rich Dwayne Johnson’s Race To Becoming The Box Office Sultan Again Gets Much Needed Support From Emily Blunt, Co-Producing Amazon Movie Together

Dwayne Johnson is all set to collaborate with Emily Blunt on an Amazon movie after losing the box-office king title race.

After reigning at the Box office for quite some while, The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson’s box office reign has been dwindling after multiple failures and cancellations. After his disappointing feat as a DC hero and the cancellation of his autobiographical sitcom, it might seem fans are getting tired of Johnson.

In an attempt to get his title back, the actor had made his return to the Fast & Furious franchise after a public vow to never return. And now the Black Adam star has apparently received much-needed support from his Jungle Cruise co-star Emily Blunt as they get ready to co-produce an Amazon movie.

Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt co-starred in Jungle Cruise and their chemistry and friendship has been impeccable. Now the two co-stars are ready to co-produce an Amazon Studios movie about a pioneering American detective, Kate Warne.

While Blunt is expected to star as Warne, it is not clear of Johnson would have any role in the movie and the details of casting have not been revealed in light of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes. Their co-producing the movie about a celebrated women figure is being seen as Johnson’s attempt to win back his position and title of the ‘Box Office Sultan’, after having faced multiple failuers and misses.

After Johnson’s failed attempt at changing the dynamics in the DC universe and his movie Black Adam being a miserable failure at the box office, things haven’t been all too well for the former wrestler. Even his and Blunt’s movie, Jungle Cruise was unable to entice viewers, further hampering the former wrestler’s Hollywood career.

His return to the Fast & Furious franchise, starring in the live-action remake of Moana, and now his venture with Blunt, all seem to be Johnson making amends and trying his best to climb back at the top of the box office charts.

Kate Warne was a pioneering American detective who worked for Pinkerton National Detective Agency. She was a key figure who helped uncover the assasination plot against Abraham Lincoln and also played a crucial role during the American Civil War. Even though it has not been confirmed, it is expected that Emily Blunt would be starring as Warne.

While Melissa Stack is the one behind the screenplay, Black Adam director Jaume Collet-Serra has been roped in by Amazon to direct the movie. Meanwhile Dwayne Johnson along with a few others would be producing from his company, while Blunt will be there producing via Ledbury Productions.

Despite major details not being revealed about the project because of the ongoing strikes, fans of Johnson have sincerely been hoping for this movie to be instrumental in helping the actor’s shrinking career.
