“Aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?”: Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals Chris Rock Apologized to Her After an Embarrassing Mistake
Chris Rock’s infamous Oscar history with Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith will be remembered forever as one of the most horrible incidents on the stage. Rock is a comedian who tends to make jokes but his jokes were not digestible for Pinkett Smith and later her husband.

But there is more to it than the famous Oscar slap of Smith to Rock, it was just the tip of the iceberg. Pinkett Smith’s recently released memoir Worthy revealed many unknown events revolving around Smith and Rock. Pinkett Smith revealed that Rock did apologize for his joke on her.

Chris Rock’s joke directed at Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia was certainly not funny for the Set It Off actor as she rolled her eyes after the joke. Her husband Will Smith was going along with the laughter but seeing his wife’s reaction he decided to walk towards Rock and hit a slap on the stage of the 94th Academy Award Ceremony where Smith received his first Oscar. Rock, however, as Pinkett Smith revealed in her memoir, apologized to Pinkett Smith right after. Revealing details of her book she spoke to People about it in great length.
“Chris came down to the end of the stage and tried to apologize to me. He said, ‘I didn’t mean you any harm.’ I said, ‘I can’t talk about this now, Chris. This is some old s*it.’ I thought this was [about] the Oscar 2016 and … their stuff that they had before I even came into the picture in the late ‘80s. I’ve got to leave that to Will and Chris to talk about, but they got their stuff for sure,” Pinkett Smith told People.
Evidently, Rock wanted no beef with Pinkett Smith and to explain that it was just a joke but it had led to a terrible event no one can ever forget.

The relationship between Pinkett Smith and her Husband has not been at their best lately, at least, several outlets reported events of their marriage. However, the couple is also known for bouncing back. In the 25 years of marriage, being celebrities, several rumors tend to hit the headlines of tabloids and it appears Rock fell for that when he decided to ask her out.
“I think every summer all the reports would come out that me and Will were getting a divorce. And this particular summer, Chris, he thought that we were getting a divorce. So he called me and basically he was like, ‘I’d love to take you out.’ And I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ He was like, ‘Well, aren’t you and Will getting a divorce?’ I was like, ‘No. Chris, those are just rumors.’ He was appalled. And he profusely apologized and that was that,” the 52-year-old told the outlet of Rock’s proposal.
Despite all odds, Pinkett Smith revealed that it will not come to divorce at any point in life assuring they will work through anything together.
